The Artist’s Magazine 2006 Art Competition The competition is open to artists anywhere in the world. Only original artwork, conceived and created by the entrant, can be considered. There are five categories in the competition; Portraits and Figures, Still Life, Landscape, Experimental, and Animal Art.
Chmielewski entered the Experimental Category in the spring of 2006. The experimental category has an unlimited subject matter, entries were judged on the creative use of design, texture, media, lighting and special techniques. She received a letter in August of 2006 congratulating her on making it into the finale round of the competition in the experimental category.
Chmielewski is published in 2006 December issue of The Artist’s Magazine.

Launching the Art Guild
of Menomonee Falls
Terra Chmielewski is the founding President of the new non-profit art organization in Menomonee Falls. The guild held their first meeting at the Menomonee Falls Public Library in November of 2006.
The Art Guild of Menomonee Falls (AGMF) is a not-for-profit organization managed and supported by community members and volunteers. Our goal is to develop and promote dynamic art experiences for residents of Menomonee Falls and neighboring communities through cultural programs, classes, exhibits and special events.
The Guilds mission is to raise public awareness about the vibrant art scene in Menomonee Falls; To create networking opportunities for area artists and arts organizations; And to offer high quality programs and events that encourages community involvement and interaction with the arts.

Solo Exhibition,
Gail Floether Steinhilber Art Gallery
The Gail Floether Steinhilber Art Gallery is committed to the enrichment of cultural life on campus, in the community and throughout the Fox Valley. The gallery exists primarily to serve UW Oshkosh students and present work that is intriguing, inspiring, thought provoking, and at times socially challenging, yet always in keeping with the university's institutional excellence.
Works by local, regional and nationally recognized artists, as well as by the university's students, faculty and staff are exhibited in the gallery. Exhibitions are planned, promoted and installed by the gallery committee, which is composed of students, a staff adviser and a community representative.
Reeve Union houses a permanent collection of 20th century art including original works by George Segal, Ernst Trova,Victor Vasarely, Robert Indiana, LeRoy Neiman, and Denny Dent.
Chmielewski had her first solo exhibition in the fall of 2006 at the gallery. The University had only purchased one piece of artwork in the past four years and The University purchased six watercolor paintings to include as part of their permanent collection.

Purchase Award,
Wisconsin Educators Association Trust
The artist, Terra Chmielewski, entered The 2006 WEA Art Showcase. She had two pieces on display from August 7 to October 26 at the Trust building, 45 Nob Hill Road, Madison. WEA Trust purchased one of her watercolor pieces for their permanent collection. She was honored at the closing reception with an award and a purchase check. The WEA Art Showcase offers a wide variety of art mediums created by WEAC members.

Grand Opening of Current Gallery of Fine Art
Together with six other local artists, Terra Chmielewski, opened an art gallery in the historic village centre of downtown Menomonee Falls in August of 2006.

On-line Gallery
Portalwisconsin.org accepts submissions from Wisconsin artists who are interested in displaying their work in this juried, online gallery. This virtual gallery is a place for you to discover contemporary Wisconsin artists. See exciting work in a variety of media, and read what artists say about their own work. Acceptance into the
League of Milwaukee Artists
The League of Milwaukee Artists formed in 1944, is a non-profit organization. Its purpose is to bring together sincere creative artists for the mutual advancement of its members and its works, and to promote interest, appreciation and understanding of art in Milwaukee. The artwork created by nearly 150 artists is as diverse as the artists themselves, with members coming together from a four-county area.
Chmielewski was juried into membership in the spring of 2006.

Regional & State Exhibition, Wisconsin Regional Art Program
The Wisconsin Regional Art Program (WRAP) provides statewide art workshops and exhibits for nonprofessional artists. It began in 1940 to encourage artists’ creative growth. Chmielewski joined this organization in the spring of 2006 in the hopes to network with other artists. She earned a State Award at her first regional exhibition in 2006. Her piece, “Greens in Balance” earned a Certificate of Merit at the 2006 State Exhibition in Madison.
